In War he gets 25% damage reduction for each minion. With 4 minions that adds up to 100%. With Xbones or WS it is only 75%. And that is a rather important difference. That is what I thought too, but if you look at his passive it now says "25% reduction with Hydra ALLIES" they must've changed it during the update.

With same power, M'Baku is better. Mbaku is useless, even in CC. The team falls just as quickly, so you may as well just build War Dogs and have them useful in the other mode.
